Darius' story

Rehoming Story Darius

Darius

At just two years old Darius, a striking 14.2hh, Welsh Section C cob was signed over to the Blue Cross in October 1994 when his owners were unable to look after him.  He had an uncertain future as a shoulder injury had left him with only a 50% chance of making a full recovery. But luck was on his side and after a successful operation Darius hasn’t looked back.

In 1999 he was rehomed to Judith Murray-Brown from Suffolk. Judith enjoyed hacking out on Darius with her grandson, Hamish and his pony. She even competed in a few Cross Country competitions, but unfortunately after six years of fun with Darius, Judith’s arthritis prevented her from riding him anymore.

Luckily Hamish’s cousin Lily was looking out for an all-round riding pony at the time and The Blue Cross approved his new home in spring 2005. He is now living with the Golding family and is ridden daily by 15-year-old daughter Lily and her mother Kate.  Sometimes even Lily’s 8-year-old sister, Annie, rides him - so he’s definitely an all-round riding pony.
