Ecuador horse trek

Equador-horse-trek-1

Dates: 5-13 February 2009.

Registration fee: Non-refundable registration fee of £300, plus minimum sponsorship of £2,700 (includes flights. accommodation, meals and airport tax).
Accommodation: This will consist of a mixture of camping and local haciendas. You will be trekking an average of 7 hours every day for 5 days.

This is a unique opportunity to take part in a horse trek challenge through the high Andes of Ecuador, across vast grassy plains and remote areas between the snow-capped volcanoes. Accompanied by skilled local horsemen and bilingual guides, you will ride through stunning scenery, visited only by local chagras (cowhands) with a good chance of seeing the mighty Andean condor soaring overhead.

Your challenge starts along the Avenue of Volcanoes and continues through Cotopaxi National Park with its unique lunar landscape. The ride promises varied terrain and pace, from cantering across the open plains accompanied by wild horses to ascending steep, rocky mountain trails.

You can't find this offer anywhere else, so once this trip has been filled there won't be another opportunity! Please note that all monies raised by Blue Cross supporters will only go to The Blue Cross.

Please email events@bluecross.org.uk or call 01993 825557 for an information pack and registration form.

This event is organised by Classic Tours.
