Join the Lapland Husky trail and spend six days sledding through rolling highlands and deep forest, into the heart of Lapland on an experience you will never forget, crossing the Swedish Border journeying through wild and untouched nature before arriving at the Ice Hotel in Jukkasjariv. Sleeping in native Sami tents, watching the Aurora Borealis and tending your dogs will help you gain a true feeling for living as the Laplanders do. After flying to Tromso in Norway, you'll meet your team of huskies who will be your constant companions for the next six days. After preparing your equipment for the expedition you will transfer to Helligskogen in the high mountains where your tough journey begins, manoevreing over ice, snow and mountains 800metres above sea level and through wintry forest to make camp in the forest and feed and tend your dogs. Remaining in Norway you will experience Isdalen an Ice Valley, and through demanding mountains and wild landscapes you enter Sweden and the homeland of the Sami, or reindeer people. Staying in Sweden you drive your sled on from Vosko to Voulus traversing various lakes onto Kiruna via the Icehotel in Jukkasjariv where you will have a short stop, Payment Option A Registration Fee:£399 Minimum sponsorship: £2,975 (this includes flights, accommodation and meals) Travel insurance: £45 The Lapland Husky Trail is organised in association with Global Adventure Challenges: www.globaladv.org |
