Peruvian horse trek

Join the ride of a lifetime across the majestic Peruvian Andes.  This area boasts striking beauty, ancient Inca ruins and fascinating flora and fauna.  Get off the beaten track and camp out under the stars.  Marvel at Machu Picchu – the “Lost City” of the Incas – one of the world’s most fascinating and important archaeological finds.
 
DAY 1: Fly London - Lima.
DAY 2: Fly Lima – Cusco. Optional walking tour of Cusco.
DAY 3: Full day optional tour to Machu Picchu, Lost City of the Incas.
DAY 4: Transfer to horse farm. Ride via Inca fortress of Sacsayhuaman to camp. 25km.
DAY 5: Ride over the Andes to Lake Quellaccocha. Hundreds of llama and alpaca herds en-route. Camp near Lake Qoriccocha. 25km.
DAY 6: Mountainous ride along the Pucamarca Route. Visit archaeological site of Huchoyqosqo. Camp at Lake Piuray. 35km.
DAY 7: Visit market town of Chincheros before arriving at last lake of the journey.  Camp at Wilawilla plateau. 25km.
DAY 8: Through the Carmen Route to the town of Poroy where we finish and bid farewell to the horses.  Short bus ride back to Cusco. Celebratory meal.
DAY 9: Fly Cusco – Lima - London.
DAY 10: Arrive UK.
 
Please Note: All riders must be confident intermediate to experienced.
