Ideas for fundraising on your own or with friends

  • Charge a favour
    Become the perfect child: offer to do the washing up, cleaning etc but then charge for the favour. It’s the perfect way to raise money.
  • Cake, sweet and cookie sale
    Hold a stall in your lunch break at your school. Ask you friends to make various goodies and sell them to you’re the pupils and teachers. Remember to label any that contain nuts.cookies 
  • Match the owner
    Why not ask your classmates to each bring in a picture of their pet, place all of the photo’s on a board in your school and charge a fee to guess the owners of each pet. Give a prize to the winner.
  • Hair beading and plaiting
    Charge a pound for each person to have the hair braided.
  • Baked bean competition
    How many baked beans can you eat with a cocktail stick in a minute? Get people to sponsor you. baked beans small
  • Coin Picture
    Make a large picture of your favourite pet and cover it in coins

Ideas for fundraising in groups

  • Charity of the Year
    Choose The Blue Cross as your adopted charity and organise a number of fundraising events and activities throughout the year.  As part of your adoption organise a visit to your local Blue Cross animal centre or hospital.
  • Class Collection Competition
    Give each class a large container and have a competition to see which class can collect to most 5p coins.
  • Non-uniform day
    Each child pay’s a £1 not to wear uniform for the day .You can also make your teachers wear uniform or fine them a £1. Other variations are: dress in blue day, blue hair/wig day, back to front day, themed days (cartoons, TV characters, historical characters, super heroes).
  • Bring and buy sale
    Hold a bring-and-buy sale or a fete in your school or local community centre. Ask all your friends to bring along items to sell and pocket money to buy.
  • Car wash day
    Wash cars in your road or close where you live and charge your neighbours. Or you could arrange with your school for a group of you to use the car park and make it a large event. car wash
  • Sports contest
    Teachers V’s Students. Hold it at lunchtime and get the crowd to give money.
  • Paper chain
    How long can you make your chain? See if you can make it stretch all the way around your school. Ask grown ups to sponsor you for each link or for each metre.
  • Sunflower power
    Have a competition to grow the tallest sunflower. Ask grown ups to sponsor you for every inch in height it reaches. sunflower
  • Celebration services
    Organise a service in your school hall, for parents and teachers, to celebrate Christmas, Easter, Diwali or Harvest. Donate the proceeds of the collection to The Blue Cross.
