Barclays volunteers help needy animals

The Blue Cross animal adoption centre in Kimpton has just played host to a team of volunteers from the Stevenage branch of Barclays Bank.

The Barclays volunteers spent two days at the charity repainting the cattery day room. Barclays also provided the paint and all the equipment needed for the redecoration. Thanks to the team the facilities are now much brighter and more attractive for the homeless cats to relax and play in during the day while they wait to find permanent loving new homes.

Centre manager Lynda Campbell said: “We are really grateful to Barclays for providing the paint, and to the volunteers for spending the day with us. It’s excellent when local workers can help charities with some of the work that needs doing. I think everyone really enjoyed the day and the cats had a great time meeting lots of new people.”

Any local companies interested in volunteering with The Blue Cross should contact the centre. The centre rehomes cats, dogs and other animals when their needs have been assessed individually. All animals leave the centre neutered, vaccinated and microchipped.

Anyone who would like to rehome one of the animals at the centre should call The Blue Cross adoption centre in Kimpton on 01438 832 232, or visit Kimpton Bottom, Nr Hitchin, Herts SG4 8EU.
