The Blue Cross Britain's pet charity

Burford raffle

Blue Cross dog Kym sniffed out four big winners in the Grand Draw raffle at the charity’s animal adoption centre in Burford this week.

The handsome German shepherd cross, who is looking for a new home, helped pick the winners from over 145,000 tickets. A man from Southampton scooped the first prize of £5,000 and other winners claimed prizes of £1,000, £500. The winner of the £300 prize generously donated the money back to the animal charity. All proceeds raised will go directly towards The Blue Cross’s work with sick and abandoned animals.

Blue Cross trading manager Jonathan Chambers said: “We have brought in over £177,000 through the raffle. This is a fantastic achievement and we would like to thank all those who contributed. It is support like this that enables the Blue Cross to continue its work around the country finding loving new homes and providing the best standards of veterinary care for needy animals.”

If anyone thinks they can give Kym the happy new home he deserves or would like to find out how to support The Blue Cross, please call the Burford adoption centre on 01993 822483 or visit Shilton Road, Burford, Oxon, OX18 4PF.

Notes to editors
