BLUE CROSS HOSPITAL NOMINATED FOR AWARD

The Blue Cross animal hospital in Merton, London has been nominated for the Petplan Practice Of The Year Award.

The Merton hospital is one of four finalists in the veterinary award category. The practice has been extremely busy in the last year, setting up weight clinics for overweight pets, rehoming animals, and providing the highest standard of care to the pets of people who cannot afford private veterinary fees.

Head vet Caroline Reay said: “We are thrilled about this nomination. We have had many success stories over the year, and are constantly striving to make the practice better. Teaching and education are The Blue Cross’s strengths, and our vets and nurses are always developing their skills.

One of our successes has been helping a cat called Bubbles. She first arrived at the clinic about a year ago, after going blind. We have helped to bring her blood pressure under control, her retinal haemorrhage has resolved and her sight has partially recovered. This is a great result."

The result of the award will be announced at the British Small Animal Veterinary Congress in Birmingham on 7 April.
