GOING THE EXTRA MILE FOR LOCAL CHARITY

Four intrepid staff at The Blue Cross adoption centre in Tiverton are braving the elements to raise money for the animal charity by walking the Two Moors Way at the end of March.

Paul Stevens, Jenny Seager, Emily Boax and James Mealcher are going to hike the 110 miles from Ivybridge to Lynmouth, stopping to camp overnight, over six days. The trek will be hard going, with steep hills and cold weather, but the group think it will be worth it.

Paul Stevens said: “We can’t wait to get started. The landscape is meant to be stunning, and we really want to raise as much as possible in sponsorship for The Blue Cross. We hope to raise £500, if not more, and every penny will go to looking after the animals in the charity’s care.”

Anyone who would like to sponsor Paul, Jenny, Emily and James can call The Blue Cross adoption centre in Tiverton on 01884 855 291, or visit them at Chiltern Gate, Bickleigh, Tiverton.

Notes to editors

The Blue Cross is Britain's pet charity, providing practical support, information and advice for pet and horse owners. Through its network of animal adoption centres it rehomes thousands of animals each year. Its hospitals provide veterinary care for the pets of people who cannot afford private vets' fees.
