Dinner dance fundraising for pet charity

The Blue Cross animal adoption centre in Kimpton is holding a Christmas dinner dance to raise money for its on going work with Hertfordshire’s needy and homeless animals.

The evening will be held at the Wheathampstead Memorial Hall on Friday 9 December at 7.30pm. Tickets are on sale for £26, and this includes a pre-dinner drink, three-course buffet, with wine or beer and tea and coffee. Live entertainment will come from local band Juan More who will be belting out hits from the 70s and 80s.  Local businesses have kindly donated a selection of great prizes that can be won in the evening’s raffle – the proceeds of which will also go to help the animal adoption centre carry on its valuable work.

Centre manager Lynda Campbell said: “This promises to be a fun evening which will get everyone into the festive party spirit. Any funds raised will be put to a good cause– especially at this time of year when our resources are stretched to the limit. People should book now to avoid disappointment, and enjoy a night out helping to support a local cause.”

Peter Lilley, the local MP, will be attending the dinner dance and making a short speech.

Tickets can be ordered by calling Kay on 01438 832 232, or by writing to The Blue Cross, Kimpton, Bottom Road nr Hitchin, Herts SG4 8EU, making all cheques payable to The Blue Cross.
