David Howarth, the MP for Cambridge, will unveil a commemorative plaque and officially open the new Blue Cross animal adoption centre in Cambridge on Friday 16 September at 11.30 am. A ceremony will take place with invited guests from the local area and Blue Cross supporters. The centre has been rebuilt to offer the highest standard of care for Cambridges needy cats. Having stood on the same site for the last seventy years, the cattery needed to be updated, and this project is now complete. Thousands of cats have found permanent loving homes thanks to the centre and this rebuild ensures the future will see more homeless cats finding the owners they deserve. Centre Manager Alan Maskell said: The rebuilt cattery is now up and running, and we are delighted to be able to celebrate this with our friends and supporters. The Blue Cross has been part of the community here in Cambridge for a long time and we are pleased that David Howarth is coming to unveil the plaque to mark our latest development. We will continue with the work we have been doing in this area for the last seventy years and look forward to helping many more animals find the homes they deserve. The centre is open from 10am - 4pm Monday to Friday and from 10am - 2pm during weekends and Bank Holidays. The centre is situated at 20 Garlic Row, Newmarket Road, Cambridge, CB5 8HW.
