The Blue Cross animal adoption centre in Southampton is holding its annual open day on Sunday 11 September at 11 am with a dog show starting at 12 noon. The centre will host a variety of fun for all the family including a tombola, childrens games, craft stalls, refreshments and a bird of prey show. The dog show will feature categories such as best rescue dog, prettiest bitch, handsomest male, best six legs and many more. Entrants are encouraged to arrive with their dogs before the start of the show to choose their categories. Centre manager Kellie Brooks said: This promises to be a great day out for everyone in the local community, and of course, all the dogs. The Blue Cross is always in need of funds and days like this help us raise extra cash for the centre. We look forward to seeing everyone and their dogs. Entrance fee is 50p for adults and free for children. The dog show costs £1 per class to enter, and the food, drink and craft stalls will be open all afternoon. The centre is located at Bubb Lane, West End, Southampton SO30 2HL. For more information please call 02380 692 894.
