Charity shop chic comes to Hereford

Local shoppers are being invited to pick up a bargain and join in the celebrations at the official opening of The Blue Cross charity shop on St Peter’s Street in Hereford this Thursday.

BBC Radio Hereford’s Katie Johnson, who hosts the Mid-Morning show, will announce the official opening of the shop live on air at 11:45am on Thursday 24 May.  Members of the public will have the opportunity to catch opening bargains and enjoy a glass of wine with the staff. 

Blue Cross shop manager, Jayne Kidner said: “We’re delighted to have a shop like this in Hereford.  Since we opened last month the shop has proved to be a popular spot for visitors to pick up a bargain and learn more about the work of The Blue Cross; many locals have already remarked at how chic the shop looks! This opening will help to ensure funds are available for the sick and abandoned animals in our care. ”

The Blue Cross shop sells clothes and accessories, books, household items, toys and a range of greetings cards. It also stocks Blue Cross information and pet care advice literature.

Animal lovers who are able to spare time to volunteer in the shop can contact the manager on 01432 278 168. Any saleable donations of clothes, household bric-a-brac and books will be gratefully received by the shop at 7 St Peter’s Street.
