A new porch on the reception area of the Burford adoption centre has been completed, thanks to a generous donation of £10,000 from The Fred and Marjorie Sainsbury Charitable Trust. The Trust was set up by Fred and Marjorie Sainsbury, a local farming couple, in order to donate funds to charities concerned with their lifelong passions for animals, the young and the countryside. The new porch now provides extra warmth and safety for animals within the reception area, allowing staff to socialise young puppies securely. The opening ceremony took place in September 2004, attended by Tony Samuel, Blue Cross marketing director, John Rutter, Blue Cross chief executive, David Sherborn-Hoare and David Bousfield, both trustees of the Fred and Marjorie Sainsbury Charitable Trust. |
