Shires show support

Malcolm Ainge, managing director of Shires Equestrian Products, has presented The Blue Cross with a cheque to help support the building of a new equine rehabilitiation centre in Rolleston.

The generous cheque of £5,000 was presented to Vanessa Rossiter, corporate development fundraiser at The Blue Cross (left). Shires raised the money by kindly donating £1 to the charity for each winter stormbreaker rug they sold in 2005.

Vanessa Rossiter said: "We would like to say a huge thank you to Malcolm and the Shires team for supporting equine welfare in this imaginative way, and contributing to this important and much needed equine facility".

Work is well underway and ahead of schedule at the new facility in Staffordshire. The new centre will enable the charity to increase its valuable work rehabilitating and rehoming horses and ponies.
