Over 80 horses at a Buckinghamshire location have been rescued after more than 30 horses were discovered dead on the site. The Blue Cross was present at the scene offering support to the RSPCA and other equine welfare organisations as they undertake handling this huge scale rescue. The Blue Cross equine rehabilitation centre in Burford, Oxfordshire is on standby to care for some of the horses and waiting to know if their offer of stables will be required. Equine welfare is at the heart of The Blue Cross and many horses come to our equine centres with a variety of problems, ranging from severe neglect and ill treatment to behavioural difficulties. Over the past decade, The Blue Cross has seen a steady increase in demand for its equine welfare services. Visit our All About Pets website for horse care advice. 11 January 2008
