The Blue Cross pet memorial service provides a helpful and comforting way of remembering and commemorating the life of an animal. The service, which currently holds over four thousand memorials, enables people to create an online memorial where owners can write about their pet, share happy memories and upload a photo. This serves as a lasting testament to the unique bond that people share with their pets. Pet Bereavement Support Service The Pet Bereavement Support Service (PBSS) is available throughout the UK and is dedicated to providing emotional support and practical information for anyone who has lost a dearly loved companion animal. Bereavement support can help people come to terms with the sense of grief and loss that the passing of a pet brings with it. Losing a pet can be just as difficult as losing any other member of the family. Many bereaved pet owners find it comforting to remember their pet by creating a memorial as a special tribute to a much-loved companion. It can also help to talk through the loss with someone who understands. Trained volunteers who have experience of companion animal loss provide support by phone or email. You can find out more on our Pet Bereavement Support Service page. 29 May 2008 |
