Badminton Horse Trials 2008

Blue Cross is Badminton's charity of the year
The Blue Cross has been chosen as the 2008 Charity of the Year at one of the world's most famous equestrian events, the Mitsubishi Motors Badminton Horse Trials.

Why not nominate the Blue Cross as your charity of the year?

A charity of the year relationship provides significant opportunities to generate positive publicity with a clear message that can strengthen brand image, reputation, awareness and competitive edge.

One of the best ways for a company to show their corporate social responsibility is through its workforce. A charity of the year relationship can be a successful tool for team building and boosting staff morale, and it can provide some of the most valuable returns through enhanced motivation, loyalty and staff development.

You may have a Blue Cross adoption centre or hospital near to your offices (check our locations from the top of the page) - think of all your work colleagues with pets, or your customers and suppliers who might be pet-owners, and would identify with our work and support your fundraising.

We have loads of ideas for fundraising, and can offer plenty of support materials for your events. You could fundraise for a particular project, an adoption centre, or a piece of hospital equipment we are happy to supply lists.

Pets at Home

The Blue Cross was nominated as Charity of the year by the pet store chain Pets at Home during 2005/6.

pah beaniesThe aim of the relationship was to raise both money and awareness of the benefits of rehoming a rescue animal. The association with Pets at Home stores helped us to get our message of responsible pet ownership to thousands of pet owners across the country, encouraging people to respect and care for their animals.

Pets at Home ran competitions and activities in each of its 190 plus stores, to help raise funds for The Blue Cross. Staff and customers raised a total of £322,000 over the 18-month period.

At the start of the relationship Pets at Home chief executive Matt Davies acknowledged the important role The Blue Cross would play in furthering its commitment to high animal welfare standards. He said: "Pets at Home welcomes the opportunity for The Blue Cross, as a respected animal welfare charity, to contribute its knowledge and experience to help us ensure the highest levels of animal welfare."

The successful relationship between The Blue Cross and Pets at Home will continue this year, with our education trailer visiting a number of stores throughout 2007. For further information on Pets at Home, please visit  their website.
