Education speakers

Anthony Nevett and Scotts Kellly

Anthony Nevett and Scotts Kelly helping children to read.

Blue Cross education volunteers visit primary schools, youth groups and nurseries up and down the country to speak to children about responsible pet ownership.

One such volunteer is Anthony Nevett and his dog, Scotts Kelly:

Blue Cross education volunteer Anthony Nevett and his dog Scotts Kelly are often busy visiting schools to teach children about responsible pet ownership.  Scotts Kelly is a retired greyhound, who now spends much of his time teaching children to read. He lends a listening ear as kids read to him, offering a calming and motivating presence that makes reading time a fun activity.

Scotts Kelly was a champion greyhound, and is also a PAT Dog (Pets at Therapy). In 2007, Anthony and his dog were made finalists in The Kennel Club's superdog competition, which recognises the contributions made by companion dogs.
