Holly's story

rehomers story 2

Holly

Holly

Pretty Holly, a 14hh Connemara X mare was signed over to the Blue Cross in Burford back in September 2002. Her owner was unable to manage her nervous behaviour (she was especially nervous around men and with the farrier) and wanted to make sure that she received the best possible training and care for the future.

After settling in, Holly had one groom assigned to her for all her training. This entailed lots of groundwork and getting her used to things she would encounter everyday. Holly has since been re-homed to Lizzie May from Hertfordshire. Together they do lots of hacking, jumping and Sponsored Rides. She has even helped Lizzie’s family to learn to ride including her much younger brother.

Holly and Lizzie are pictured here competing at the Burford Annual Summer Horse Show in July 2004.
